‘Mr Andrew Taylor, knee specialist at The Bone and Joint Centre, was delighted to be invited to present to the students of Birkenhead School last Friday September 25^th.

The presentation, entitled ‘So you want to be a surgeon’, covered all aspects of early decision making, entrance requirements, jobs and courses and attributes required amongst others.

It is vital to the on-going success and development of surgery in this country to educate our young people as early as possible to allow them the opportunity to make the correct decisions and plan their education and future path.

Mr Taylor said,

“To be able to talk to students about my experiences and my career development was exciting. I have thoroughly enjoyed my journey and have taken great pleasure in seeing my patients back to full fitness and normal healthy lives.

I was happy to advise and discuss any queries the students had and hope to see some of them in theatre in the coming years.’
