At the end of October, Mr John S. Davidson, consultant hip and knee surgeon and founder of the Bone and Joint Centre, was invited to attend an international advisory board for revision knee replacements. The event was hosted by DuPuys in Madrid and reinforced the important role of the BJC in influencing orthopaedic surgical advancement.
Mr Davidson was also a key participant in the 5th International AKU (Alkaptonuria) workshop earlier this month where he sat on the surgical panel. Mr Davidson has operated on more AKU cases that any other surgeon in the UK and is considered to be an opinion leader in the subject. Liverpool is soon to become the designated centre for AKU in the country and this is in no small part down to the clinical excellence of the BJC’s founder.
